Kayla & Eddie Family Photos, Tibble Fork UT
Family sessions at Tibble Fork Reservoir are all about letting people settle into the space. The mountain setting does most of the work. Soft light, layered mountains, and the reservoir reflecting everything back. My approach to capturing real moments is easy… it’s about creating real moments. The result is a set of images that feel natural, grounded, and true to your family.
Kayla & Eddie have the most beautiful family and it was so fun taking their photos!
Tibble Fork Reservoir is a shared public space, and photographing families here comes with a responsibility to respect it. Following Leave No Trace principles like staying on established paths, packing out everything we bring in, and being mindful of vegetation and wildlife helps preserve the area for everyone.
Photographers are able to continue using places like this because we treat them with care, keeping our sessions low-impact and respectful. Protecting the landscape is part of what allows these sessions to happen at all.
When the environment is treated with care, it becomes easier to slow down, connect, and let genuine interactions happen naturally. There are some things you can do to make your experience easier when being photographed in outdoor spaces:
bring snacks/water for your kids
extra layers if needed
dress for the location + season
wear layers so you can change your look, in this shoot - my clients brought cowboy hats & blankets for their kids between shots :)
remember to have fun! I typically bring a small speaker to play music while we run around
